Program Description:

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management degree will provide you with a foundation in scientific and management principles, an international perspective, and essential problem-solving skills. These attributes enable environmental management practitioners to find the most cost-effective solutions to environmental and safety problems that threaten their company's ability to survive and grow in today's competitive, global economy.

Your environmental management coursework will prepare you to apply scientific principles, guiding regulation, and recommended practices for environmental management. When you graduate, you'll know how to develop comprehensive environmental management strategies and integrate multimedia environmental understanding and new technologies in cost-effective and work-efficient ways.

In addition, you'll be able to interpret and apply environmental management regulations in the workplace and the community. You'll also be able to understand and integrate regulatory compliance, emergency management, health and safety management, pollution prevention, resource conservation, and sustainable development for sound environmental management. And you'll know how to use effective techniques for communicating scientific, technical, and legal information to diverse populations, including industry managers and employees, community groups, and the media.

Additional Information:

A major in environmental management requires the completion of 30 semester hours of coursework in environmental management, including at least 15 semester hours in courses numbered 300 or above.
